Can Matchmaking be taken as a profession? If yes, then, can a matchmaker charge his customers as per their income or social status?

Praise be to Allah.
It is permissible to take matchmaking as a profession. The matchmaker can charge any amount which is fixed beforehand and agreed upon by both sides (i.e. the matchmaker and the client).
