The journey of the Institute for Community Development in spreading pure Islamic knowledge in Bangladesh has been quite long. Nearly 17 years ago, witnessing the widespread misconceptions in Islamic beliefs and practices among the Muslims of our country, we felt a sense of responsibility and started organizing a weekly study circle. As a result, several islamic study circles were established in Dhaka and Chattogram – Alhamdulillah! At the same time, this initiative aimed to bring together brothers and sisters who would recognize the importance of Islamic education from the very basics. Over time, they began to feel the necessity of establishing an institution dedicated to Islamic learning and research. This very realization laid the foundation for today’s ICD. By the immense blessings of Allah, the institution gradually progressed, and eventually, it was officially registered. The study circles of ICD became enriched with the presence of esteemed scholars and talented students of Islamic knowledge. With a long-term vision of nurturing a new generation inspired by the true essence of Sunnah, the *School for Community Development (SCD)* was established. Gradually, the initiative expanded to include an open library, the *Qard-e-Hasanah* (interest-free loan) project, various training programs (such as funeral washing, Ruqyah, etc.), Tajweed and Arabic language courses, and many other essential community activities. By the boundless mercy of Allah, these efforts have transformed many lives, producing dedicated Islamic preachers (da’ees) and bringing many families back to the true path of Islam – a movement that continues to thrive to this day.
However, despite its dedication to spreading Islamic teachings and supporting Muslim brothers and sisters in practicing islam, this entirely non-profit institution still does not have a permanent campus or building. All activities have been conducted in temporary facilities, requiring frequent relocations due to the lack of a permanent space. Additionally, the absence of a mosque-based program with a resident scholar has been deeply felt, and many well-wishers have expressed the need for such an initiative. This is because ICD’s programs are no longer just experimental projects but have evolved into a well-established and ongoing islamic dawaah activities.
Alhamdulillah, today we bring you the good news of such an integrated initiative. This mosque-based initiative by ICD is named **Masjid for Community Development (MCD) and Islamic Centre**. With the goal of establishing a mosque-centered campus based on the **Qur’an, Sunnah, and authentic Aqeedah**, the necessary official procedures have already been completed. Furthermore, **a 3-bigha (99 decimals) plot of land near Dhaka has been purchased** for this purpose.

Our work plan that will be implemented in this project, Insha’Allah!
1. In addition to offering prayers in the style of Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al-Nabawi, various religious activities will be carried out over different periods. Separate arrangements for both men and women will be made for learning and offering prayers. Esteemed and distinguished scholars of the country will organize educational study circles (Ilmi Halakahs) for the participants.
2. A resident Islamic scholar will be provided accommodation to engage the general public more closely with Islamic knowledge. Through this, people will receive practical and hands-on training in Islamic worship, alongside studying religious books.
3. Modern madrasas/schools with an integrated syllabus of general and Islamic education will be operated separately for both men and women, offering a curriculum that combines both general and Islamic education at a modern standard.
4. Alongside the general syllabus, a step-by-step program will be implemented to complete full or partial Qur’an memorization by the 10th grade.
5. An open field will be provided for children, alongside the mosque complex.
6. An open library will be established for the public, Insha’Allah, to encourage everyone to read religious and beneficial books.
The main office of ICD will be considered the central hub for all educational, service, and Dawah activities conducted by ICD. All of ICD’s operations will be managed from here, Insha’Allah.
The funding required to realize this plan and dream is undeniable. Insha’Allah, for the successful implementation of this initiative, the voluntary participation of individuals like you and me, humble servants of Allah, will be enough, and there will be no need for donations from foreign or local organizations! To achieve this goal, we will appeal to all our religious brothers and sisters to not only contribute financially but also to consider this as our own mosque and initiative. We will encourage our acquaintances to join this effort, and until the implementation is completed, Insha’Allah, we will not give up.
The land registration has been completed, Alhamdulillah.
For MCD, the registration of 96.17 decimals of the designated 3 bighas (99 decimals) of land has been completed, Alhamdulillah. The registration of the remaining 2.83 decimals of land will be completed soon, Insha’Allah.
After completing the sand filling and initial boundary marking on the mosque land, we plan to start the construction of the mosque and complex once we receive the full handover of the land, Insha’Allah.
